Former Indian World Cup-winning captain MS Dhoni discussed his bond with star batter Virat Kohli at a recent event in Hyderabad. Dhoni reminisced about their memorable on-field partnerships and said they make the most of their rare meetings.
He noted that while they don’t meet frequently, they always take the opportunity to catch up and discuss current events. Recently, Virat Kohli played a key role in the ICC T20 World Cup, where his 76-run performance helped India defeat South Africa by seven runs in the final at Barbados.
This match turned out to be Kohli’s final T20I for India. Virat Kohli is currently competing in the ODI series during India’s tour of Sri Lanka, which began on Friday with the first of the three matches.
Dhoni returned for the 2024 league season after successful knee surgery. Despite occasional struggles and limping on the field, he continued to entertain fans. With limited opportunities, Dhoni scored 161 runs in 11 innings at an average of 53.66 and a strike rate of 220.54, including 14 fours and 13 sixes.
However, CSK missed out on the playoffs, finishing fifth with 14 points, having won and lost seven matches each, following a loss to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
