Before the three-match ODI series against the West Indies, the England team received a major setback as captain Jos Buttler will miss the entire series due to not fully recovering from his injury. As a result, Liam Livingstone will take over as the captain of the England ODI team. Buttler sustained the injury during the ICC T20 World Cup held in June 2024.
