A new butterfly species found in Arunachal Pradesh has been named after singer Zubeen Garg. Discovered in Basar by researchers, the rare species was seen only twice. Called Basar Duke, it lives in forest areas and feeds on tree sap. The naming honors Garg’s cultural impact and highlights the region’s rich biodiversity and need for conservation.
