AIMIM Chief Owaisi Raises Concerns Over SIR Exercise

AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi slammed the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, said that it could create a permanent category of excluded Indian citizens. He claimed that 6.5 crore names had been removed from voter lists across 13 states and UTs. Owaisi also questioned Centre’s proposal to form a panel examining exclusions.
