The government of Andhra Pradesh made a significant decision on Saturday, declaring ‘Valmiki Jayanthi’ a state festival. The coalition government, led by CM Chandrababu, issued an order for the festival to be officially celebrated in all districts starting October 17. A state-level Valmiki Jayanti celebration will take place in Anantapur.
