Kartik Month: Amla Worship Linked To Shiva & Lakshmi

The month of Kartik is considered highly sacred for worshipping Lord Shiva. Devotees perform lamp worship using amla, as the Puranas describe the amla tree as a divine form of Lord Shiva and beloved of Goddess Lakshmi. Lighting lamps and performing ‘Deeparadhana’ under the amla tree during this month is believed to bring prosperity.
