US To Begin Social Media Checks For H1B/H4 Visa Applicants

Starting today, the US Immigration Dept will vet social media accounts of H1B and H4 visa applicants. The US State Dept has advised applicants to make their accounts public for the process. Officials emphasized that visa decisions are made with national security in mind, and only individuals who pose no threat to the country’s interests will be approved.
