Senior Congress leader and the country’s oldest MLA, Shamanur Sivashankarappa (95), passed away on Wednesday evening. He represented the Davangere South constituency in Karnataka. Born on June 16, 1931, in Shamanur, Davangere, he entered politics in 1969 and went on to serve as an MLA six times, leaving behind a long legacy in public life.
