Delhi HC Restores Jamia Teachers’ Association, Calls Dissolution Illegal

The Delhi High Court has overturned Jamia Millia Islamia’s 2022 decision to dissolve the Jamia Teachers’ Association. The court ruled that disbanding the elected body violated teachers’ fundamental right to form and run associations under Article 19(1)(c). It held that Jamia had no legal basis to nullify elections or impose a revised constitution.
