Tensions erupted in Bagalkote on February 20 during a Shivaji Jayanti procession as stones were hurled at meat shops and police. Eight arrests were made, including the main accused, Tanzeer. Prohibitory orders were imposed till February 24. Similar clashes occurred in Hyderabad and Jabalpur.
