China Clears Rare-Earth Licenses As India Boosts Production

China has started granting rare-earth magnet import licences to Indian companies, helping the auto and components sectors. India is pushing local production through a ₹7,280 cr scheme to manufacture rare-earth permanent magnets. The plan aims to cut dependence on China, strengthen supply chains, and support defence, electronics, and clean energy goals.
