Congress Slams SHANTI Bill Over Nuclear Liability Concerns

Congress alleged the SHANTI Bill was “bulldozed” in Parliament to help PM Modi “restore SHANTI” with a former ally. Jairam Ramesh said the bill removes key provisions of the Civil Liability for Nuclear Damage Act, noted in the US National Defense Authorization Act 2026, raising concerns over India-US nuclear liability rules.
