Yahya Sinwar, the Hamas chief, died from a gunshot wound to the head, according to his autopsy report. Dr. Chen Kugel of Israel’s National Forensic Institute noted that Sinwar also suffered severe injuries from shrapnel and fallen debris. His severed finger was sent for DNA testing, confirming his identity through a profile established during his imprisonment. The autopsy occurred 24 to 36 hours after death.
