Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday declared the AAP’s “10 guarantees” in a press conference if his party wins the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. In his guarantees, the CM included many public-benefit projects, including promises of free power and better healthcare.
After announcing, the CM attacked the party, saying that it has always failed on its promises; his guarantees have proven track record. He further claimed that people need to decide between the “Modi Guarantee” and the “Kejriwal Ki Guarantee.”
Free electricity for all is at the center of Mr Kejriwal’s election promises, which primarily target the economically backward members of society. The leader of the AAP argued that the continuous power supply model from Delhi should be applied across the country.
The first of the 10 promises is that they will provide 24-hour electricity in the country. Although the country can produce 3 lakh MW of electricity, only 2 lakh MW are actually used.
The CM said that the country can produce more electricity than can be consumed. We will carry it out nationwide, like we have in Punjab and Delhi, said the CM. The second poll guarantee is revamping education in all government schools.
The CM further claimed that ₹ 5 lakh crore will be required to remedy that and that state governments and the Centre should pay ₹ 2.5 lakh crore each to make up for the total cost.
