Kamal Haasan’s MNM Won’t Contest Tamil Nadu Polls 2026

Kamal Haasan’s party, Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM), will not contest the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The DMK offered fewer seats and asked MNM candidates to contest under its Rising Sun symbol, which Haasan rejected. MNM will still support DMK candidates, prioritising alliance unity and Tamil Nadu’s welfare over party interests.
