Prohibitory Orders Imposed In Leh Amid Statehood Protests

Following violent clashes and arson during the Ladakh statehood agitation, authorities imposed prohibitory orders under Section 163 of BNSS, banning gatherings of five or more people. Responding to the unrest, Omar Abdullah stated Ladakh was never promised statehood and highlighted the 2019 celebration of its Union Territory status.
