The coalition AP government has announced major relief for the poor by reducing building permit fees to just ₹1 for houses up to 50 square metres (G+1) in municipal corporations, municipalities, and city panchayats. Previously, fees were up to ₹5,000. A regulation has been issued to implement this benefit for small-scale home builders.
