The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced that all Indian nationals who wished to return from Syria have been safely evacuated. A total of 77 Indians, including 44 pilgrims from Jammu & Kashmir, were brought back after rebel forces took control of Damascus. The embassy facilitated their safe passage to Lebanon, with most now back in India. The Indian Embassy in Syria continues to function.
