Assam minister Nandita Garlosa joined the Congress after being denied a BJP ticket and will contest the upcoming assembly elections from Haflong in Dima Hasao. The party’s Nirmal Langthasa agreed to cede the seat in “greater public interest.” Congress praised Garlosa as a committed voice for the district over the past five years.
