NRC Not Final, Assam Will Deport Foreigners: CM Himanta Sarma

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma declared that foreigners will be deported even if listed in the NRC, citing misuse and doubts over its credibility. He said the state will use the 1950 Expulsion Act for eviction, stressing NRC inclusion alone can’t confirm citizenship, and alleging manipulation during its compilation by certain activists and officials.
