Navy Expands Eastern Fleet With INS Udaygiri, Himgiri Warships

India commissioned stealth frigates INS Udaygiri and INS Himgiri, enhancing maritime strength under Project 17A. Built at different shipyards, both feature advanced indigenous tech and weaponry, with 75% local content. Designed in-house, they mark a major milestone in naval self-reliance and will join the Eastern Fleet to bolster Indian Ocean security.
