SC Issues Notice To DK Shivakumar, Karnataka Govt Over CBI’s Plea On Consent Withdrawal

The Supreme Court has issued a notice to Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar and the state government in response to a CBI plea challenging the withdrawal of consent for investigating a disproportionate assets case. The Karnataka government had retracted the BJP-era consent, citing legal concerns. The CBI claims Shivakumar amassed Rs 74.93 crore in illicit wealth during his tenure as energy minister.
