From Village School To CJI: Journey Of Justice Surya Kant

Justice Surya Kant is set to become the 53rd Chief Justice of India on 24 November, succeeding BR Gavai. Born on 10 February 1962 in Hisar (Haryana), he began his career as a lawyer in 1984 and joined the Supreme Court on 24 May 2019. Known for key rulings on Article 370, free speech, gender equality and corruption, his tenure will extend until Feb 2027.
