A new semi high-speed rail corridor connecting Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will feature trains running at up to 220 km/h. The main route between Shamshabad and Visakhapatnam will have 12 stations, with the shortest distance between stations being 27.76 km. The project, costing over Rs 21,000 crores, includes a Kurnool extension and aims to boost regional connectivity. A detailed survey is underway.
