Bengal Govt Announces Compensation For Rain-Related Deaths

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee announced ₹2 lakh ex gratia for families of rain-related victims and urged CESC to pay ₹5 lakh to families of electrocution victims in Kolkata. She assured employment for kin and blamed poor dredging for floods. Ten people died due to rainfall incidents, nine by electrocution amid waterlogging.
