The Himachal Pradesh Governor’s residence and office, formerly called Raj Bhavan, is now renamed Lok Bhavan. The change, following the Home Ministry’s directive, aims to remove colonial-era names and reflect democratic governance. Historically known as Barnes Court, the heritage building in Shimla has served as the Raj Bhavan since 1971.
