The Telangana govt has launched the ‘Indira Dairy Project’, providing two dairy buffaloes or cows to each member of women’s groups. Initially rolled out as a pilot in Madhira constituency, Khammam district, the program is set to expand to other areas. Each unit costs ₹2 lakh, with the govt subsidizing ₹1.40 lakh and the remaining ₹60,000 covered via bank loans.
