The University of Oxford has maintained its top position in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025 for the ninth consecutive year, thanks to increased industry income and patent citations. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is now second, while Stanford has dropped to sixth. Harvard and Princeton have moved to third and fourth, respectively.
