The Thane Crime Branch has arrested Uday Kotwal and Tushar Apte, president and secretary of the school linked to the Badlapur sexual assault case, in Karjat. Their arrests followed the Bombay High Court’s rejection of their anticipatory bail pleas. The main accused, Akshay Shinde, was killed in a police encounter earlier this month, drawing criticism from the Maha Vikas Aghadi.
