Supreme Court Issues Notice To 8 States On Appointment Of DGPs

The Supreme Court of India issued notice to 8 states on the appointment of a temporary Director General of Police. The court issued contempt notices to the Chief Secreataries of Punjab, Rajasthan, UP, AP, Telangana, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Bihar for violating the Supreme Court’s judgment in 2006. The court also ordered that temporary DGPs of 8 states submit affidavits before October 21.
