SC Grants ED A Week To Reply On Partha Chatterjee’s Bail Plea

The Supreme Court granted the Enforcement Directorate (ED) an extra week to respond to Partha Chatterjee’s bail plea in a money laundering case linked to a cash-for-jobs scam. Chatterjee’s lawyer argued he deserves bail after serving one-third of the maximum sentence, while the ED labeled the case serious. Chatterjee was arrested in July 2022 and subsequently removed from his ministerial roles.
