Prohibitory Orders Issued In Parts Of Kolkata For Puja Carnival Amid Doctors’ Strike

Ahead of the Durga Puja Carnival on Tuesday, Kolkata Police has prohibited gatherings of over five people in Red Road and nearby areas due to protests by the BJP and junior doctors over the recent rape and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Hospital. Approximately 3,000 police personnel have been deployed, and access for goods vehicles to Red Road has been restricted.
