US authorities have fined Lufthansa a record $4 million for discriminating against over 100 Jewish travelers, who were barred from a flight in 2022. The penalty, the largest for a civil rights violation by the US Department of Transportation, followed an incident where passengers, identified by distinctive garments, were denied boarding after some didn’t comply with mask mandates.
