Is Vizag Steel Plant A ‘Navratna Status Company’?

The Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited, the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant in Andhra Pradesh, is a Navratna status public sector undertaking under the Union Ministry of Steel. Established in 1982, RINL was fully owned by the central govt. It received Navratna status from the govt in November 2010. Notably, the Vizag Steel Plant is the first shore-based integrated steel plant.
