Indian Institute Of Foreign Trade Rises 12 Ranks To 15th Spot In NIRF Rankings
The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) has significantly advanced in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) for 2024, climbing 12 places from 27th in 2023 to 15th in 2024.
The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) has significantly advanced in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) for 2024, climbing 12 places from 27th in 2023 to 15th in 2024. Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, praised the institute’s progress and expressed confidence in its potential to become a world-class institution contributing to India’s growth in trade and investments. Sunil Barthwal, Secretary of the Department of Commerce and IIFT Chancellor, also commended the achievement and pledged support for research in international trade.
IIFT’s recent initiatives have enhanced its teaching, research, and professional practices, leading to this impressive ranking. The institute is focusing on international trade and business through its Ph.D., MBA (International Business), MBA (Business Analytics), and MA Economics programs.
New projects include the establishment of the Centre for International Negotiations (CIN) to train corporations and policymakers and the Foreign Trade Case Study Centre (FTCSC) for developing case studies similar to those of Harvard, aiming to share Indian trade experiences globally.
Additionally, IIFT is considering setting up an offshore campus in Dubai with support from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The institute is also exploring partnerships with export promotion organizations like APEDA to sponsor PhD research in contemporary trade issues.
