The Indian government has lifted the minimum export price of USD 490 per tonne for non-basmati white rice, aiming to enhance overseas shipments. This decision follows the removal of a blanket export ban imposed in July 2023. With ample rice stocks and controlled retail prices, the move seeks to boost exports, which totaled USD 201 million from April to August this fiscal year.
