Supreme Court Denies Transfer Of RG Kar Rape-Murder Case Trial

Supreme Court today denied a request to transfer the RG Kar rape-murder case trial outside West Bengal. Chief Justice DY Chandrachud rebuked a lawyer who claimed the state had lost faith in the police and judiciary. The bench reviewed the CBI’s status report on the case and scheduled the next hearing for November 11, asking for an updated report in four weeks.
