India recorded the highest number of births globally in 2025, with reports estimating 2.3 crore births during the year. India topped the list, followed by China with 8.7 million, Nigeria with 7.6 million, and Pakistan with 6.9 million births. Despite leading in numbers, India’s fertility rate is projected to decline to 1.9 percent in 2025.
