Dalit Groom Attacked, Forced Off Horse In Bulandshahr Incident

A Dalit groom, Robin Singh, was forcibly removed from his horse and pelted with stones during his baraat in UP’s Bulandshahr on Dec 11. Attack occurred in a Thakur-dominated neighborhood, where the groom and his wedding party were harassed with casteist slurs. Accused, from Thakur and Rajput communities, also damaged the music system. Police arrested five individuals following the incident.
