The rupee rose 9 paise to 86.43 against the US dollar in early trade, supported by a weaker greenback. However, gains were capped as US- India tariff talks remained unresolved. Forex traders noted continued dollar demand from importers, keeping pressure on the rupee and leading to a narrow trading range despite global cues favoring appreciation.
