Russia Claims Encirclement Of Ukrainian Troops In Donbas

Russia announced that Ukrainian forces in Pokrovsk and Kupiansk are surrounded and urged them to surrender, warning of no chance of survival. Moscow has sought to seize Pokrovsk, known as the “gateway to Donetsk,” since 2024. The move is part of its push to capture all of Donbas, 10% of which remains Ukrainian-controlled.
