The Supreme Court has put its previous order on the Union Environment Ministry’s definition of Aravalli Hills on hold. A three-judge bench, led by CJI Surya Kant, said an expert committee should review the earlier report. Notices were sent to the central government and Rajasthan, Gujarat, Delhi, and Haryana. Next hearing is on January 21.
