Farmers In Karnataka Protest Against WAQF Board Claiming Their Lands

Farmers in Karnataka’s Vijayapura are staging a protest against the Waqf Board’s decision to designate 1,500 acres of their land as Waqf property. They are demanding CM Siddaramaiah to take action in the matter. BJP MP Tejasvi Surya met the farmers, who claim documentation of ownership from early 1900s. WAQF board issuing notices and altering of mutation records sparked a political conflict.
