Officials Remove Banners As Tamil Nadu Poll Code Begins

Officials removed political posters, banners, and wall advertisements across Chennai and other parts of Tamil Nadu after the Model Code of Conduct came into force for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly poll. In Madurai, election teams began patrols with GPS-fitted vehicles, and control rooms were opened in district headquarters to strengthen poll monitoring.
