More than 12 Naxalites were killed in separate encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region today, police said. Over 10 ultras were gunned down in Sukma, while two were eliminated in adjoining Bijapur. A fierce exchange of fire broke out in Sukma forests, and officials confirmed the anti-Naxalite operation is still underway.
