Veteran social activist Dr. Baba Adhav died in Pune at 95 after a prolonged illness. A key leader of Maharashtra’s labour movements, he founded the Hamal Panchayat to organise headloaders. Hospitalised 12 days earlier, he died of cardiac arrest. He also championed equality through the influential ‘Ek Gaon Ek Panwatha’ anti-caste campaign.
