SC Questions ED On Low Convictions, Chatterjee’s Detention

Supreme Court on Wednesday questioned the Enforcement Directorate (ED) over the low conviction rate in money laundering cases. The bench, comprising Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan, also raised concerns about former West Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee, arrested over recruitment irregularities. The court noted that Chatterjee has been in jail for over two years without the trial beginning.
