Emmy-winning director Rod Holcomb, renowned for his work on “ER,” passed away at the age of 80 on January 24, 2024. Hollywood luminary Holcomb, who also made significant contributions to episodes of “Lost,” “China Beach,” “Wolf,” and “The Six Million Dollar Man,” succumbed to a prolonged illness in Los Angeles, as confirmed by the Directors Guild of America.
In a statement, Holcomb, prior to his demise, acknowledged his father’s influence, noting that he remained humble and committed to guiding aspiring individuals entering the industry.
Geoffrey Brandt, Holcomb’s manager, expressed sorrow over the loss of the director, describing him as a gentle giant and a cherished friend who peacefully passed away in the presence of his wife Jane, son Josh, and daughter Natasha.
