Andhra Pradesh Accounts For 1.6% Child Marriages

Child marriages account for 1.6% of all marriages in Andhra Pradesh. While this rate is 2% in villages, it is 0.4% in towns. The recently released Sample Census-2023 report revealed these points. West Bengal (6.3%), Jharkhand (4.6%) and Chhattisgarh (3.0%) are the highest in the country. The lowest are Kerala (0.1%), Haryana (0.6%) and Himachal Pradesh (0.4%).
