NHRC Questions Telangana Police Over Alleged Harassment In Surrogacy

National Human Rights Commission has questioned Telangana Police over allegations of harassment of women under the guise of promoting surrogacy. Taking suo motu cognizance of media reports, the NHRC issued a notice seeking information from police authorities about any complaints related to such harassment. This follows a woman’s suicide in Hyderabad on Nov 27, alleging sexual harassment by a man.
